My wife was suffering from Trigger finger of her left thumb for years. Her thumb locked frequently especially at night. It was painful to "pull" or straighten it. Trigger finger is a common problem that causes pain and snapping (locking) of the tendons in the fingers. Treatment includes taking anti-inflammation drug Ibuprofen, steroid injection and surgery for more serious cases.

Recently it was too painful (to "unlock" or to release) that she decided to seek treatment. At an established Medical Centre, an Orthopedic recommended surgery- incision to release the tendon. It would be a day-care surgery but done in the operation theater with stitches. It needed few days for recovery. Estimated cost - RM 15 to RM2000. A date has been booked for the surgery.

On the eve of surgery, a friend called to say hello and my wife mentioned about the surgery on the next day.
